The Mid Hants Watercress Line - http://www.watercressline.co.uk
Info: Based just past Winchester, the Mid Hants Watercress Line is one of Hampshire's more historical tourist traps. With 10 miles of track, it is the longest preserved steam railway in Hampshire and the only one offering standard guage trains. Easy to get to via both road and rail (mainline rail connection at Alton station), the Mid Hants Watercress Line is an experience back in time that is not to be forgotten. Marwell Zoological Park - http://www.marwell.org.uk
Info: Marwell Zoological Park is another attraction in Hampshire to be a stone's throw away from Winchester (6 miles from Winchester station in fact). Home of many endangered species and approx. 200 different species of rare animal, including tigers and leopards. Cheap and easy to get to, Marwell is reccomended to all those needing their wild animal fix. Full information on Marwell's conservation projects as well as the zoo entry times and prices are available on the site.
The Museum of Army Flying - http://www.flying-museum.org.uk
Info: "100 years of heroic achievement - portrayed in graphic detail!" This how the museum describes itself. Based in Middle Wallop (almost slap-bang in the area between Andover, Salisbury and Stockbridge), the museum is easy to get to from most major roads in the area. Covering all aspects of flight in the army from the pre-World War 1 period to the present day. A varitey of models show the might of the aircraft while the static displays illustrate the life and culture of the people who flew them. See the site for opening information and prices.
